How to create discount codes for your event?

Discount codes are an excellent tool to boost sales, reward loyal customers, or attract specific groups of attendees to your event. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to create and manage discount codes for your event in Eventzilla.

Steps to create discount codes

Navigate to the Discount Codes Section:

Go to your event's setup by logging into your Eventzilla account.

Select Event Setup > Promotion > Discount Codes.

Click on the button marked "Add New Discount Code".

Discount name:

In the pop-up window, enter a name for your discount. This name is for your reference and will help you identify the discount code later.

Promo code

Enter the promo code that attendees will use during registration to activate the discount. Make sure it’s easy to remember and relevant to your event or audience.

Price or Percentage

Choose whether the discount will be a fixed amount (e.g., $10 off) or a percentage (e.g., 15% off).

Discount value

Enter the value of the discount. If you selected a fixed amount, enter the dollar value. If you chose a percentage, enter the percentage amount.

Specifications

Apply discount to each ticket: Decide if the discount should apply to each individual ticket in an order or to the entire order value

Apply to specific ticket types: If you want the discount to apply only to particular ticket categories, select Yes and choose the ticket types from the list.

Set a date range (start and end Date)

Specify the date range during which the discount code will be active. The code will only be valid within this period.

Set maximum redemptions (optional):

If you want to limit the number of times the discount can be used, enter the maximum number of redemptions. This is the total number of times the discount can be claimed by different attendees.

Save the discount code:

Once you’ve entered all the necessary details, click on Save and Continue to finalize the creation of your discount code.

Managing discount codes

After creating a discount code, you can manage it by following these steps:

Edit or Delete

You can edit or delete your discount code at any time. This is useful if you want to change the discount value, adjust the date range, or make the code invalid. To do this, click on the gear icon next to the discount code listed in your event setup.
