Understanding Fees for Kiosk Check-in with Eventzilla

Eventzilla offers a convenient Kiosk check-in feature that allows organizers to streamline the check-in process at their events. However, it's important to note that there is an additional fee associated with using the Kiosk check-in, separate from the standard Eventzilla fees. In this article, we will explain how the fee works and provide information on the one-off payment flow when activating Kiosk mode during an ongoing event.

Fee Information: The fee for utilizing the Kiosk check-in feature is not included in the Eventzilla fee structure. It is collected as an additional amount to cover the cost of this feature. The fee is nominal, set at $0.49 per registered attendee.

Collection of the Fee: To ensure a seamless registration process, the fee is collected at the time of registration. This means that attendees will be required to pay the additional fee of $0.49 per registered attendee when signing up for the event. The fee is incorporated into the registration payment flow, eliminating the need for organizers to pay any additional amount themselves. If in case the payment method used for the event is offline payment options, Authorize.net, or Braintree then we raise an invoice to collect the Kiosk fee.

One-Off Payment Flow: If you decided to activate the Kiosk mode during an ongoing event where registrations have already taken place, there is a specific payment flow to account for the lapsed registrations. Here's how it works:

  1. Activation Decision: As the organizer, if you choose to enable Kiosk mode after registrations have started, you will be required to pay the fee for the lapsed registrations to proceed with activating the Kiosk mode.
  2. Calculation of Lapsed Registrations: The fee for the lapsed registrations will be calculated based on the number of attendees who registered before the Kiosk mode was enabled.
  3. Payment Processing: Eventzilla will provide you with an invoice for the fee amount corresponding to the lapsed registrations. You will be required to make the one-off payment for these registrations before the Kiosk mode can be activated.
  4. Kiosk Activation: Once the payment for the lapsed registrations is processed, the Kiosk mode will be activated and ready for use at your event.

When using Eventzilla's Kiosk check-in feature, it's important to note the additional fee associated with this functionality. The fee of $0.49 per registered attendee is not inclusive of the Eventzilla fee and is collected at the time of registration.
