How to hide the social media share options on the confirmation page?

By default, when a registrant completes their registration for an event, the confirmation page will display social media share options. These options allow attendees to easily share the event details and registration information on platforms like Facebook and X (formerly Twitter). While this feature can help promote your event, you may prefer to hide or remove these share options for privacy or branding reasons.

This article will guide you through the steps to disable the social media share icons on the confirmation page.

Why hide social media share options?

There are several reasons why you might want to remove the social media share options from your event's confirmation page:

  • Privacy concerns: You may prefer to keep registration details private and prevent users from sharing event details without your permission.
  • Branding control: You might want to keep the focus on the event itself and discourage users from sharing external links.
  • Event-specific strategy: For certain events, you may not want to encourage social sharing for strategic or promotional reasons.

How to hide social media share options?

Follow these steps to hide the social media share options on the confirmation page:

Go to Registration > Ticket/Registration. This is where you manage all aspects of event registration, including ticket types, custom messages, and confirmation settings.

In the Ticket/Registration settings, look for the option labeled "Hide social media share on the confirmation page". This toggle controls whether or not the social media share icons (for Facebook and X) are displayed on the confirmation page.

Click the toggle to enable the Hide social media share option. When this option is enabled, the share icons will not appear on the confirmation page, preventing attendees from sharing the event URL on social media platforms.

After toggling the option to hide the social media share buttons, make sure to click Save Changes to apply the setting.

Snapshot of the Event Confirmation Page

Here is an example of how the social media share icons appear on the confirmation page by default:

  • Facebook Icon: Attendees can click to share the event URL on Facebook.
  • X Icon: Attendees can share the event details on X (formerly Twitter).

When you choose to hide these options, the confirmation page will no longer show these icons, and users will not be able to share the event directly from this page.

Event Customization: You can toggle this setting on a per-event basis, allowing you to hide or display the social media share buttons depending on the event's requirements or privacy preferences.

By following the steps in this article, you can easily disable these options, ensuring your confirmation page looks exactly how you want it.
