How to prevent duplicate registrations?

To avoid registrants from registering more than once using the same email address, you can enable a setting that ensures each email address can only be used once for a specific event.

This feature ensures that a registrant cannot submit the same email address more than once for the same event, preventing duplicate entries.

Steps to prevent duplicate registrations

Begin by logging into your organizer account

Go to the Registration > Registration Form. This is where you can adjust settings related to how your event’s registration process functions.

In the Registration Form settings, look for the option labeled Prevent a buyer/registrant from registering more than once (Multiple tickets may still be purchased by a single buyer). This option will help you prevent duplicate registrations using the same email address.

Toggle this option to activate the prevention feature. Once enabled, this will ensure that no one can register for the event using the same email address more than once.

After enabling this setting, be sure to click the Save button to apply the changes.

Multiple tickets with different email addresses: While this option prevents duplicate registrations for a single email address, a single buyer can still purchase multiple tickets. However, each ticket must be registered using a unique email address.

Example Use Case

If a person tries to register for your event using the same email they’ve already used, the system will prompt them with an error message, blocking further registrations with that email address. However, if they wish to buy additional tickets, they will need to use a different email address for each registration.

By following these steps, you can ensure that your event’s registration process remains clean and organized, while still allowing attendees the flexibility to purchase tickets for others.
