What is Event Networking and How to Enable Networking for Your Attendees?

Event networking is a valuable feature that allows attendees to connect with one another during online or hybrid events. It enables meaningful, one-on-one interactions by allowing attendees to schedule meetings either freely throughout the event or within specific time slots defined by the event organizer.

This feature is especially useful for conferences, expos, trade shows, and any event where building connections and professional relationships is key to the attendee experience.

By strategically enabling networking, you empower attendees to:

Expand their professional network: Connect with peers, industry leaders, and potential collaborators.

Share knowledge and insights: Engage in valuable discussions and learn from diverse perspectives.

Discover new opportunities: Forge partnerships, find mentors, and explore potential career paths.

Enhance engagement: Participate actively and feel more connected to the event community.

Maximize event ROI: Derive greater value from their attendance through meaningful interactions.

Steps to Set Up Networking Schedules

Event networking refers to scheduled or on-demand meetings between attendees during an event. It helps replicate the in-person networking experience virtually, giving attendees the opportunity to connect, collaborate, and engage with each other.

As an organizer, you can choose to:

  • Allow networking throughout the event
  • Restrict networking to designated time slots

To enable and configure networking for your event attendees:

Navigate to the Networking Settings for the event on Event hub > Networking

Choose how you want attendees to connect:

Option 1: Allow Meetings Anytime

    • Attendees can schedule networking meetings at any time during the event.
    • Set the duration for the meetings using the time picker.
    • Meeting duration can range from a minimum of 5 minutes to a maximum of 30 minutes.
    • This provides maximum flexibility for attendee engagement.

Option 2: Restrict Networking to Specific Time Slots

    • Limit meetings to predefined schedules within the event.
    • Define the start and end time for each networking slot.
    • You can add up to 3 networking slots per event day.
    • This option is ideal for maintaining a structured schedule or if you prefer attendees to network during breaks.

After configuring your networking preferences, click "Save Changes" to apply the settings.

By enabling event networking, you're enhancing the value of your event by helping attendees build connections that can lead to collaborations, partnerships, or even friendships.
