How to update the timezone for the event?
When organizing an event, it’s crucial to ensure that the correct timezone is set, as this will affect the event's registration page, ticket sales, and event schedule. If you need to update or edit the timezone for your event, you can easily do so at the event level.
Steps to update or edit the timezone for the event
Navigate to the "Event setup" section from your Eventzilla dashboard.
In the Event setup menu, click on "Event details" to access the basic information of your event.
Locate the Timezone Section
Within the Event details page, scroll down to find the "Time zone" section labeled "Time zone where the event happens."
Click on the drop-down menu next to the Time zone section.
From the list of available timezones, select the timezone that corresponds to the location where your event is taking place.
After selecting the correct timezone, click the "Save Changes" button to update the timezone for your event.
Check your event registration page using the "Preview" option to confirm that the correct timezone is now displayed.
The timezone you select for your event will have a significant impact on several aspects of your event setup:
Event registration page: The selected time zone will be reflected on the event registration page. This means that attendees will see the correct event start and end times based on the timezone you specified.
Ticket sales: The ticket sales start and end times will be based on the event's specified timezone. This ensures that ticket sales are open and close at the correct times according to the event's timezone.
Event schedule: Any scheduled sessions, workshops, or activities within the event will follow the event’s timezone, ensuring that the event runs smoothly and all activities occur at the intended time.
Changing the timezone does not automatically adjust the event’s scheduled times. If you need to update the event start or end times to reflect the new timezone, make sure to edit the event schedule accordingly.
Multiple timezones for different locations: If your event involves multiple locations in different timezones (e.g., online sessions or events across multiple regions), you may need to provide clear information for attendees about the time zone being used for each session.
Time zone conversions: If your event is global or online, it’s helpful to provide a time zone converter link or display the event time in multiple timezones to avoid confusion among attendees from different regions.
