How to lock tickets with an access code?

If you have VIPs, sponsors, or special attendees who qualify for discounted or free entry to your event, but you don't want others to see these options, locked tickets are a perfect solution. By locking tickets with an access code, only those with the code can view and purchase these tickets. This works great for members, volunteers, or any other group you want to grant exclusive access.

When an access code is specified, this ticket type will be hidden and only shown if the correct access code is entered

Why use locked tickets?

Locked tickets allow you to:

  • Keep certain ticket types hidden from the public.
  • Make tickets available only to those with the access code, such as sponsors, VIPs, or volunteers.
  • Ensure that only people who meet special criteria can register for certain ticket types.

How to set up access codes for the tickets?

Create or edit a ticket type:

When you're in the process of creating or editing a ticket, you can view the option to "Specify an access code for this ticket type."

Enter an access code:

You will see a text box labelled Access code. Enter your desired code here. Be sure to make it something unique and hard to guess, as this is case-sensitive and will protect your tickets.

Save your settings:

Once you've entered the access code, you're all set. You can create as many locked tickets as you need, each with its own unique access code.

Each ticket type can have its own unique access code. You cannot use the same access code across multiple ticket types in the same event.

What attendees will see?

When attendees navigate to select tickets, they will encounter a text box labelled "Enter access code." Upon inputting the access code and clicking apply, the hidden tickets will be revealed, enabling them to proceed with the registration.

This feature ensures that only the intended audience can access these special tickets with the specified access code.
