How to unpublish an event?
Unpublishing an event is a useful option when you need to temporarily stop registrations or make changes to the event details without permanently removing it from your account. This feature is ideal if you anticipate reopening registrations after a short break or need to keep the event details accessible while preventing new sign-ups. Here's how to unpublish an event and when it’s the preferred option:
When to unpublish an event?
Temporary break in registrations
If you need to pause registrations for a short period, unpublishing the event is an effective way to ensure no new attendees can register during this time.
Event modifications
If you need to make significant changes to the event details, such as updating the schedule or ticket types, unpublishing the event allows you to make these updates without confusing or inconveniencing potential attendees.
Future registrations
If you plan to open registrations at a later date but want to keep the event listed in your organizer account, unpublishing it keeps the event hidden from public view while remaining accessible to you.
Steps to unpublish an event
Log in to Eventzilla
Access your account
Navigate to the event dashboard
Locate the event you wish to unpublish. You can find it in your list of events on your dashboard.
Go to edit event/event Setup
Click on the event to access its details.
Go to the "Edit Event" or "Event Setup" section.
Locate the unpublish option
On the top right corner of any of the navigated pages within the event setup, you will find the "Unpublish" button.
Click on this button to unpublish the event.
Confirmation of unpublishing
Once the event is unpublished, the "Unpublish" button will change to "Publish."
This indicates that the event is no longer available for registration to attendees but remains accessible to you in your organizer account.
Republishing the Event
When you are ready to reopen registrations, simply click the "Publish" button, and the event will be available for attendees to register again.
Benefits of Unpublishing an Event
Flexibility
Unpublishing allows you to make necessary updates or changes to your event without permanently closing it or losing access to the event details.
Control
You have full control over when the event is visible to attendees, making it easy to manage your event timeline and registration process.
Preservation of Data
Unlike deleting an event, unpublishing preserves all event data, including attendee lists, ticket types, and event details, which can be reactivated at any time.
By following these steps, you can easily unpublish and later republish your event, ensuring that you maintain control over the registration
