How to add venue information for an event?
When creating or managing an event, specifying the venue is crucial, especially for In-Person and Hybrid Events. The venue information is used to display the event location on your event page, in event communications, and on tickets.
This helpdesk article will guide you on how to add and manage the venue information for your event.
Steps to add venue information for an event
Navigate to the Event set up > Location/Venue
In the Location/Venue section, you’ll have two options to specify the venue for your event:
Select an existing venue
If you had already added venues to the account, they will be available as a drop-down list.
Simply select the venue from the list to associate it with the current event.
Add a new venue
If you want to add a new venue for your event, click on the Add New Venue/Location button.
This will open a form where you can enter the following venue details:
- Venue Title (e.g., Conference Center, Hotel Name)
- Address Line 1 and Address Line 2 (if applicable)
- City/Town
- State/Region
- Postal Code
- Country
You will also be able to see a map where you can drag the location marker to the exact location if the map does not automatically place it correctly.
If you need to adjust the venue information, you can easily do so by:
Editing the venue: If the venue details need updating, click the Edit button next to the venue name. You can update any of the venue information, including the address or map location.
Deleting the venue: If the venue is no longer relevant or incorrect, click the Delete button to remove it from the list.
After selecting or adding your venue and making any necessary adjustments, click Save to apply the changes to your event.
When is the venue details required for an event?
In-person events: You must provide the venue details as the event is held at a physical location.
Hybrid events: You will need to specify the venue for the in-person attendees. Additionally, you can provide online event details for virtual attendees.
Online events do not require venue information, as they are conducted entirely virtually.
Adding and managing venue information for your event is essential to ensure the correct location, easily select from existing venues or add new ones as required, and you can make adjustments to the venue information at any time.
