Host with YouTube Live, Vimeo Live, or a custom stream

Eventzilla allows you to host a webinar using an external streaming provider instead of the built-in Eventzilla Webinar experience.

You can configure your webinar to stream through:

• YouTube Live
• Vimeo Live
• Custom Embed

This option is useful when you already have a live-streaming setup with YouTube, Vimeo, or another streaming provider and want to use Eventzilla for event registration and attendee access.

Important: When using an external streaming provider, some Eventzilla Webinar features such as the integrated Studio, built-in recording/replay, and advanced Joinlive engagement tools may not be available. Review the provider options carefully before selecting your streaming method.

Select a Live Stream Provider

To configure an external live stream:

1. Open your webinar settings.
2. Check the option "How would you like to host this webinar?"
3. Under Stream Configuration - Live Stream Provider, select one of the available options:
   • YouTube
   • Vimeo
   • Custom Embed
4. Enter the required Stream ID or embed information.
5. Save your webinar settings.

The selected provider determines how the live video is presented to attendees.

YouTube Live

Select YouTube when your webinar will be streamed through a YouTube broadcast.

Enter the Stream ID

After selecting YouTube, enter the Stream ID associated with your live stream.

Make sure the YouTube stream is correctly configured and available before your webinar begins.

Public stream requirement

When using YouTube as the streaming provider, make sure the stream is accessible to your intended attendees.

Vimeo Live

Select Vimeo when your webinar will be streamed through Vimeo Live.

The Stream ID field is intended for the stream identifier rather than the complete Vimeo URL.

Before the webinar starts, verify that the Vimeo stream is active and that your intended audience has the required access to view it.

Custom Embed

The Custom Embed option allows you to use a supported custom streaming or video embed instead of selecting YouTube or Vimeo.

This option can be useful when your organization already uses another streaming platform or has a custom video-streaming setup.

When using Custom Embed:

1. Select Custom Embed under Live Stream Provider.
2. Provide the required correct Stream URL
3. Verify that the embedded stream can be accessed by your attendees.
4. Save the webinar settings.

The exact embed requirements depend on the streaming solution you are using.

Check Your Stream Access Before the Webinar

Eventzilla provides the registration and attendee experience, but the actual live video is delivered through the streaming provider you select.

Before publishing or sharing your webinar, verify:

• The stream is correctly configured.
• The correct Stream ID has been entered.
• You have not entered the full streaming URL where only the ID is required.
• The stream is accessible to your intended attendees.
• Any required provider permissions or viewing restrictions have been configured.
• The live stream works correctly when accessed from the attendee experience.

Eventzilla Webinar vs. External Streaming

The Eventzilla Webinar option provides a more integrated webinar experience through Joinlive.

When you use an external provider such as YouTube or Vimeo, you are primarily using Eventzilla for registration and the event experience while the live video is delivered by the external streaming platform.

The Eventzilla Webinar option can provide additional capabilities such as:

• Multi-speaker profiles and bios
• Live chat and moderated Q&A
• Branded broadcast Studio
• Custom backgrounds, layouts, and overlays
• Built-in recording and on-demand replay
• Polls, handouts, offers, and other Joinlive engagement tools

Email Reminders

When using an external live-stream provider, Eventzilla can also manage attendee email reminders.

The Email Reminder setting allows you to send reminders to registered attendees before the webinar starts.

Available reminder timing and customization depend on the webinar configuration.
